"Where are the Well-paying Jobs?" Tool Interactive tool presenting regional labor market data in an easily digestible format. This tool enables students and their advisors to see how career interests align with actual job opportunities in their region. This tools answer questions such as “What are well-paying jobs in my region, what education/training do they require, and what do they pay?” Unlike O*NET OnLine, Naviance, and other tools, users can explore the well-paying jobs in a region filtered by career area, education required for entry, employer demand, wages, etc. We currently offer this tool for Greater Boston, Central MA, and various regions of Texas.

Unlike Naviance, College Scorecard, BigFuture, and other postsecondary exploration platforms, Navigator provides detailed information on a variety of postsecondary programs to meet students’ diverse career interests (e.g., an electrician or biotech apprenticeship; associate degree in auto technology; firefighter academy; bachelor's degree in nursing or graphic design; combined BS/master’s degree in business administration or social work; combined BS/Doctorate in physical therapy). --- ONLY includes programs that NextGen Talent has assessed as providing a good return on investment for students. -- Includes program-level outcomes data and demystifies the program admissions process. NextGen provides training to advisors, teachers, and students of partner organizations on how to use our tools to identify high-value postsecondary and career options. Training is online or in person. We also develop customized lesson plans for partners who want to integrate our tools and decision-making strategies into their career development courses and postsecondary advising programs.

Organizations build the capacity of their advisors and teachers through our Professional Development (PD) Package. Our menu of training sessions can be delivered in person or online. Choose from a range of topics including: Confronting Bias in Career Advising for Youth; Overview of the Postsecondary Career Program Landscape in Your Region and Tips for Helping Your Students Navigate these Options; How to Assess Whether a Postsecondary Credential Will Pay Off in the Job Market; and Understanding Your Local Labor Market.
